The Kaynee Co. factory, located on Aetna Ave. near Broadway in the Slavic Village neighborhood, provided thousands of jobs to the largely Bohemian residents of this area until it closed in 1958. The caption to this image describes the factory as "the world's largest, most modernized plant in the world devoted exclusively to the production of washable garments for boys and children".
