The catafalque, or pavilion, built around President Lincoln's casket stood just east of the center of Public Square. A horse-drawn hearse can be seen in front of the pavilion. In the foreground is the statue of Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry, sculpted by William Walcutt and erected in the middle of Public Square five years before Lincoln's assassination. Superior Avenue may be seen in the background to the east. | Date: 1865 | Source: Cleveland Public Library Digital GalleryDownload Original File
