Arcade During Republican National League Meeting, 1895
The Arcade was festooned with flags and bunting during the Republican National League convention. On June 23, 1895, the Plain Dealer reported that delegates in town for the meeting left with the impression that the Arcade "affords more opportunity for decoration and display and is in every way more impressive than Madison Square garden, which the average citizen of the Knickerbocker town is sure far overshadows anything like a hall in the world." | Source: Cleveland Memory Project, Cleveland State University Library Special Collections
