Goat Leads the Way

Goat Leads the Way
According to an article in the August 4, 1940 edition of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, it was a "Judas goat" that led this flock of sheep out of their pens at the Cleveland Union Stockyards and on their way to a nearby slaughterhouse. Hundreds of thousands sheep were slaughtered in Cleveland every year during the Stockyards era.
