Cherry Grove Farm Ad, Circa 1900s ID: 2151 | This file appears in: French-Andrews Fruit Farm Like many of Lakewood's other fruit orchards, the French-Andrews farm was converted into residential streets around the turn of the 20th century as Lakewood became a well-populated suburb of Cleveland. Based on this advertisement, it appears that the Andrews family (doing business now as the Andrews Brothers) retained control over the marketing and selling of their former orchard. "Cherry Grove Farm," this ad states, is being "Converted into the Choicest Residence Property." As land in Lakewood became more valuable, getting out of the fruit farming business probably proved to be a profitable endeavor for the city's orchard owners.
