In 1903, West Side Clevelanders, upset over Cleveland Public Library's annoucement to move the West Side branch to the site of the old west side market, protested outside this building on the southeast corner of East 3rd and Rockwell that served as the main library building from 1901-1913. The protest was successful and the Library Board subsequently sited the new branch library on Fulton Road, near Lorain Avenue, where it has remained to this day. | Source: Cleveland Public Library, Library ArchivesDownload Original File
