Wearing its Age Well

Wearing its Age Well
This photo of the Fuller-Collins House was taken by a county tax appraiser in 1956 when it was 90 years old. Likely because of the commercial building directly in front of it, the appraiser photographed the east side of the house only. Despite this, it is evident that, in this year, the house was still well kept. Note the apparently good condition ofthe red brick exterior, the window hoods, and the landscaping. However, a closer look at the foundation and the roof shows that both may have been in need of major repair. Also note the dormer on the rear wing of the house, which was likely not part of the house's original design. | Source: Cuyahoga County Archives
