Sokolowski's Sign, 2016

Sokolowski's Sign, 2016
One of several signs adorning Sokolowski’s University Inn. The Polish Eagle is the symbol of the territories that formed the Polish Congress, which emerged during the World War I. The Eagle was featured on the Polish banknotes a few years later. It also was the emblem of the Polish Army until 1927. It remained a national symbol during the Communist period—one of the few non-communist symbols officially accepted by the Soviet Union. It is still featured on many Polish buildings and flags. | Creator: Chris Roy | Date: 2016
