While long extinct, the idea that a fearsome arthrodire was once an inhabitant of the region grabs the attention of young and old alike. The exhibition of realistic models and ancient fossils isn't always mere spectacle, however. Displays are often used by education institutions to encourage the exploration of sciences such as geology, biology, and paleontology.
