Police Raids in the Shantytown

Police Raids in the Shantytown
During the Great Depression, displaced and out of work citizens of Cleveland formed new communities that became known as shantytowns. Kingsbury Run's shantytown gained attention in the late 1930s due to the notorious "Cleveland Torso Murders" case. Police conducted a raid of the area with the combined goal of solving the case and evicting the squatters. | Date: ca. 1938 | Source: Cleveland State University. Michael Schwartz Library.
