Rainey Institute successfully weathered some turbulent years in the second half of the twentieth century in large part due to its Director, Zandra Richardson, and a dedicated Board of Trustees led by Theodore Horvatz who carefully managed Rainey's finances.. In this circa 1985 photo, the Board is meeting in the basement of Rainey Institute. The woman in the middle of the photo is Director Zandra Richardson (with her daughter Rebecca next to her). Zandra served as Rainey Institute Director from 1966 to 2008.
