Savings and Trust Company Bank Building

Savings and Trust Company Bank Building
In 1885, this imposing five-story commercial building went up on the southeast corner of Euclid Avenue and Hickox Alley, extending 135 feet down the alley. The building partially seen on the other corner of the Alley is the Hardy Block, erected in 1875. The erection of four and five-story commercial buildings like these near Hickox Alley during this period would have certainly had an impact on lives of the working-class residents living there. This photo was taken in 1889. | Source: Cleveland Public Library, Digital Photo Collection
