1932 aerial view of historic school buildings
Circled in this photograph are Moreland Elementary School (left) and the old East View School (right). The photograph graphically shows how much larger the Moreland Elementary school was than the school it replaced. The East View school building, which after 1926 served different functions for the Shaker Board of Education, was destroyed by fire in the 1930s. Today (2018), the Shaker Heights Community Building sits on that site. | Source: Cleveland State University, Michael Schwartz Library, Special Collections; Shaker Heights Public Library, Local History Collection
