Masjid Bilal during construction

Masjid Bilal during construction
The construction of Masjid Bilal began in 1982 and cost nearly $500,000. The 82 x 82-foot building was constructed of a light brown brick and is topped with a golden dome made out of aluminum. This dome is called the prayer tower, which can be seen in front of the billboard in this photograph. Eton Hall and Rugby Hall are visible in the background of this southwest view towards Euclid Avenue. These seven-story apartment buildings were built in 1925, closed in 1976, and torn down in 2012 for Church Square Commons, a senior housing development. | Source: The Masjid Bilal Archive
