Rudy Rife
1966 photo of Shaker Heights Service Director Rudy Rife plowing a sidewalk in the city. Rife Court, the street that was created to provide access to Chagrin Boulevard from Menlo and Pennington Roads once the Service Center was built, and which, as well, serves as part of the residents' buffer from the Center, is named after him. Rife was employed by the City of Shaker Heights for 47 years, from 1923 until his retirement in 1971. Her served as its Service Director for the last 27 years of his employment. | Source: Cleveland State University, Michael Schwartz Library, Special Collections; Shaker Heights Public Library, Local History Collection
