On October 4, 2000, Cleveland City Council adopted Ordinance No. 1736-2000, sponsored by near west side Councilman Nelson Citron. The legislation named the park on the corner of Detroit Avenue and West 25th Street, "Jimmy Bivins Park," in honor of Bivin's great boxing career and subsequent service to the youth of Cleveland's near west side as a trainer and gym owner. | Source: Cleveland Public Library, Administration Branch, City RecordDownload Original File
