A Long Time in Planning

A Long Time in Planning
The construction of Bulkley Boulevard, along with that of the Detroit-Superior bridge, during the period 1915-1918, led to the creation of the little park--named after both a popular ward leader and a famed boxer, on the northwest corner of Detroit Avenue and West 25th Street. The above early plan for the boulevard was drawn in 1900, less than a decade after Edgewater Park had been created. | Source: Cleveland Public Library, Digital Map Collection
