Quincy Avenue expansion dooms the Forest City facility.
James A. Bohannon operated the Peerless Motor Car Co. at 9400 Quincy Avenue until the Depression. He negotiated the rights for US production of Carling beer in 1934, and a decade later purchased the Forest City Brewing Company. The $3m expansion of the Quincy Avenue plant in 1953 spelled the end of the old Forest City Brewery, however, and the facility and all of the equipment were sold. | Date: June 7, 1953 | Source: Special Collections, Cleveland State University Library
