Victory Farm Volunteers
The United States Crop Corps volunteers residing at the River Road Camp weren't the only Cleveland youngsters lending a hand to local farmers during World War II. Young men and women from settlement houses and local social agencies throughout the Cleveland area were recruited to pick fruit and harvest crops in an effort to alleviate a shortage of farm workers in Northeast Ohio. | Source: National Victory Farm Volunteers (U.S.).
