Chippewa Valley Camp

Chippewa Valley Camp
The Playhouse Settlement was selected by the Cleveland Welfare Federation to conduct a summer camp for the city's most impoverished children. Opened in 1923, Chippewa Valley Camp initially consisted of six tents nestled within a small clearing in Brecksville Reservation. With a mission of promoting the healthful development of its young attendees, the settlement house grew a program of outdoor education and recreation over the next quarter century. | Source: The Cleveland Metroparks
