Officially closed in 1992, the Richman Brothers factory on East 55th Street has been tenantless for over two decades. While ownership has changed hands many times over that period, no reuse project for the site has been able to gain traction. A fire spread through the upper floors of the factory in 2011, although the damage went undocumented.
