Bailey's Lakewood Store, 1964
The Great Depression was a time of extreme economic decline throughout cities in the United States, but Bailey's continued operations at this time and even opened a branch store at 14275 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood, Ohio in 1930. This was Bailey's second branch store and it made Bailey's one of the first department stores in the country to have two suburban stores by the 1930s. Like a number of other Cleveland department stores, Bailey's managed to survive the Great Depression. | Creator: James Foster | Date: 1964 | Source: Cleveland Memory Project, Cleveland State University Library Special Collections
