Camp Supplies
While a small fee was charged to families of campers that could afford it, the majority of the Playhouse Settlement summer camp's operating budget was underwritten by the Cleveland Community Fund. Even still, acquiring adequate funding proved to be a challenge — especially at the onset of the Great Depression. The camp closed in 1932 due to a lack of available resources, and was only revived the following year when additional grants were presented by the Cleveland Press and the Cleveland Foundation. | Source: The Cleveland Metroparks
