Sylvester T. Everett House

Sylvester T. Everett House
Mather Mansion is among the last surviving opulent homes of Millionaire's Row. Into the early 20th century a number of similarly impressive manses stood in its vicinity. Financier Sylvester T. Everett's brownstone mansion, shown here, was built in 1887 on the northwest corner of Euclid and East 40th. Built to last centuries, it managed scarcely a half century and was demolished in 1938. | Source: A. D. White Architectural Photograph Collection, Cornell University Library
