Mayor Perk Boards an RTA Bus
Mayor Ralph J. Perk was instrumental in regionalizing public transit in Cleveland during the 1970s. Under his leadership, the city implemented the Regional Transit Authority (RTA), which alleviated the city's transit debts, allowed for further suburbanization, and became a model that other cities would emulate. | Source: Cleveland Memory Project, Cleveland State University Library Special Collections
