Woman Suffrage Headquarters

Woman Suffrage Headquarters
In anticipation of a campaign to amend the Ohio Constitution through the passage of a woman suffrage amendment, the Woman Suffrage party opened its headquarters on Euclid Avenue in 1913. At the time, the organization claimed 4,000 members in Cuyahoga County. The headquarters was to act as the social and political center for the suffrage movement in Cleveland. Harriet Keeler briefly acted as president of the organization in 1913, but stepped down due to troubles with her health.
