Beef on Hooks
A cooling room at the Swift and Company Packinghouse at 3237 West 65th Street. The company, founded in Chicago in 1855, opened a packinghouse in Cleveland in the 1890s. At its peak, it employed almost 1000 workers here. The packinghouse closed in 1961. This photograph was taken in 1929.
