Before his humanitarian work began, Chief Thunderwater performed in Buffalo Bill Cody's Wild West shows for nine years. In 1940, Chief Thunderwater, also known as Oghema Niagara, took part in Erie Street Cemetery's Re-dedication Ceremony.
