General James Barnett is one of the 96 Civil War veterans buried at Erie Street Cemetery. Barnett was the commanding officer of the 1st Ohio Volunteer Light Artillery. He was also a member of the Cleveland Grays and had the honor of leading a welcome for President Abraham Lincoln.
