John Hall built this home at 16913 Detroit Avenue in 1875. He lived in there with his family until his death in 1921, at which point his daughter and son-in-law moved into the house. The city of Lakewood purchased the house in 1946, building a playground on the property. The Lakewood YMCA acquired the land in 1956, at which point the house was torn down to make way for a new YMCA building, which itself has since been demolished.
