Frank L. Jirouch accepted numerous commissions to produce sculptural works in and beyond Cleveland apart from his work in the firm. Perhaps his most illustrious work in the city is "Night Passing the Earth to Day," a bronze work located by the southern edge of Wade Lagoon in the Fine Arts Garden, an Olmsted Bros.–designed embellishment of Wade Park completed in 1928. His sculpture includes a woman representing "night" handing off the Earth to another woman representing "day." The Sculpture Center in Cleveland points out that Jirouch's time in Paris in the early 1920s may have influenced this sculpture because it resembles Parisian sculptures. | Source: Ohio Outdoor SculptureDownload Original File
