Aircraft School Trainees Pose with Drills
Pictured (left to right) are Madeleine Damaso, Ruth Daoust, Evelyn Aerni, and Lillian Munhall, students at the Cleveland Trade Aircraft School, which was located in the converted automotive dealership that eventually became Fenn Hall. During World War II, Cleveland's aircraft production grew rapidly, leading to the need to train thousands of aircraft workers. Fisher Aircraft's request led to the establishment of the Cleveland Trade Aircraft School on the first anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. | Creator: Glenn Zahn | Date: December 18, 1942 | Source: Cleveland Press Collection, Cleveland State University Library Special Collections
