In 1913, the Bailey Co. decorated its exterior with American flags and red-white-and-blue bunting as part of the city's commemoration of the Battle of Lake Erie in the War of 1813. Note that part of the store's slogan, "The Store For All the People," is visible above the sidewalk windows. The old May Company store, with its clock tower, stands adjacent to Bailey's just north along Ontario Street. | Creator: George H.
