Houses and terrace apartments, such as the building that appears on the bluff behind the park in this view, lined Summit Street. Through the late 19th century, many residents lived within blocks of the park, but in the early 20th century the commercial and industrial focus of an expanding central city began to crowd them out. | Creator: George H.
