This photo of the M. J. Lawrence House was taken for the Cleveland Board of Zoning Appeals in August 1954, one year after a devastating tornado struck Cleveland. It damaged many houses and other buildings on the city's west side, including the M. J. Lawrence House. Note the evidence of the repairs to the roof and front gables. The roof itself looks newly repaired, but its front dormer is gone. The two front gables also appear to have been repaired, but the eaves and the windows in each gable are gone. Many of the remaining windows on the front and east side of the house look damaged and the covered front porch is gone. | Source: Cleveland Public Library, Photograph CollectionDownload Original File
