T. C. Howard's Climatron in St. Louis
Thomas C. Howard was a designer and engineer who worked closely with R. Buckminster Fuller at Synergetics, Inc., a North Carolina design firm, starting in the 1950s. He and Fuller collaborated with William Hunt Eisenman and John Terence Kelly on the ASM headquarters in the late 1950s. Howard went on to design a number of similar structures of note, including the Climatron, which encloses a greenhouse at the Missouri Botanical Garden. It was completed just months after ASM's Materials Park. | Creator: Morgan Burke | Date: March 20, 2011 | Source: Flickr, CC BY-NC-ND 2.0
