The Statler at Night

The Statler at Night
This postcard image shows the Statler as it appeared in its first two decades. A later expansion would close the western flank of the hotel in the foreground. The Statler was the largest hotel on Euclid Avenue. Guests could enjoy short walks to some of the city's largest department stores, notably Halle Bros. Co. Its popularity only grew as the Playhouse Square area developed in the early 1920s. | Date: ca. 1910s | Source: Mark Souther Postcard Collection
