This photograph of Chester Avenue looking east from about East 46th Street was taken in 1980, the year after a road widening project from East 40th to East 55th made Chester Avenue a six-lane highway from East 21st Street all the way to University Circle. It was the culmination of plans for a fast thoroughfare north of Euclid Avenue that began in the 1890s. | Source: Cleveland State University, Michael Schwartz Library, Special CollectionsDownload Original File
