This 1928 photograph of Chester Avenue was taken facing eastward from East Ninth Street. Just one year before it was taken, Cleveland finally completed construction of a new section of Chester Avenue from East 30th Street to East 40th Street that made it a continuous roadway from East Ninth Street to East 55th Street. It would take another decade before Chester Avenue was extended from East 55th all the way to University Circle. | Source: Cleveland Public Library, Digital Photograph CollectionDownload Original File
