By the late 1990s, Shaker Heights was home to 11.4 percent of the 33,710 Jewish households in the Cleveland and Cuyahoga County area. Six percent of these 3,851 households in Shaker Heights identified as Orthodox. Cleveland Heights, where the Shaker-Lee Congregation was relocated, was home to the largest Orthodox Jewish community in the region.
