The Who, who were touring for their epic album Tommy appeared on June 27, 1970. This show had a very striking Cleveland connection, as well as a rather unusual lineup. One of two opening acts was James Taylor, who was a solo act, performing with just his acoustic guitar and a stool. Also on the bill was the local act the James Gang, who famously were formed in Cleveland, and included musical legend Joe Walsh.
