The Harvey Cushing Plaque had been affixed to an exterior wall of the downtown May Company building in 1969. However, by the year 2017, when this Cleveland Historical story was written, the plaque had been removed and no one seemed to know what happened to it . . . that is until Mariah Grow, Assistant Director of Donor Relations at Case Western Reserve University, read the Cleveland Historical article in 2025. She contacted Cleveland Historical and let us know that, in 1992, the plaque had been removed and given to the Cleveland Medical Library Association. The Association in turn placed the Cushing Plaque on the lobby wall of the Allen Memorial Medical Library at Case Western Reserve University where it still is as of March of 2025.
