Detail of Circular Portico

The Ratner School, originally designed as Brith Emeth Temple by Edward Durell Stone in 1966, calls to mind the futuristic nods common in midcentury modern architecture. The building's circumferential portico contributes to its flying-saucer-like appearance from afar. The gymnasium, seen at right, was a later addition.
