A Fire puts a Finish to the Brewery

A Fire puts a Finish to the Brewery
After Henry Hoffman's death in 1880, his son William and a partner attempted to continue the business. However, they failed and, in 1882, were forced to sell the brewery, as well as the Hoffman residence on the corner of Walton and Rhodes (Fulton). This fire, which mysteriously broke out at the brewery on July 25, 1886, destroyed the buildings which had been vacant for four years, not six as stated in this Plain Dealer article of the same date.
