Django's Review in the Plain Dealer, 1946
After Reinhardt's debut in Cleveland, the Plain Dealer reviewed the concert. The headline of the story perfectly shows the city's reaction to the Belgian guitarist, even though they called him French. Another journalist wrote "Duke Ellington came to Cleveland without fanfare and he gave his fans here the greatest treat in the annals of local jazz when he introduced in this country, for the first time, the hottest guitar player in the world." | Date: 5 November 1946 | Source: Cleveland Plain Dealer
