18524 Parkland Drive

18524 Parkland Drive
Designed by the prominent architectural firm Howell & Thomas for the Van Sweringen Co., the stone and stucco home was built in an English style. English revival was a popular design in suburbs following World War I; the practical structures conveyed a sense of comfortableness and safety. The residence on Parkland Drive was constructed at an estimated cost of $20,000, and was completed in 1924. The demonstration home was designated a landmark on June 27, 1983. | Creator: CSU Center for Public History + Digital Humanities
