Prohibition Agents Watch As Leisy Shuts Down Operations, 1923

In response to the threat of Prohibition, Leisy Brewing Company created a non-alcoholic malt beverage called Bevera. The sales of non alcoholic drinks could not sustain the company following the discontinuation of beer production though. In 1923, the Leisy brewery closed down. Over 6,000 barrels of Bevera were dumped into the sewer.
