Oliver and Abigail Ellsworth

Oliver and Abigail Ellsworth
This painting of Founding Father Oliver Ellsworth and his wife Abigail Wolcott Ellsworth at their home in Connecticut was created by Ralph Earl, a prolific 18th century American portrait artist. The Ellsworth family owned 100 acre Lot 468 in Newburgh Township before selling it to Grafton and Alvin Bradford, and their wives, who in 1833 built the now historic Bradford House upon it. | Creator: New York City Library Digital Collection | Date: 1792
