A New Kind of City

A New Kind of City
The Garden City was an attempt to counteract the social ills created by the overcrowding of urban centers. By creating a network of communities that were limited in size and population, the Garden City Movement attempted to reimagine urban planning for the benefit of its residents. Fairhill Road Village reflects this through a limited size, co-op model of living, and access to green space. | Date: 1898 | Source: Ebenezer Howard, Garden Cities of To-Morrow
