Globe Ship Yard in circa 1900
In the early 1880s, while Henry Coffinberry served as president of the partnership's ship building company, Globe Iron Works expanded its shipyard onto the north side of W. Old River Street (Division Avenue) near the west end of the Ship Canal. This view is looking east toward downtown Cleveland. Just beyond the shipyard buildings you can see several buildings of the Cleveland Water Works complex. | Source: Library of Congress Photo Collection
